How this is compiled

The draft archive holds 8,015 selections covering every draft from 1947 to 2026, each one attributed to the franchise that made the pick and the college the player came from. Alongside it we track 395 future picks, recording who actually controls each selection once trades, protections and swap rights are applied, because ownership of a pick and the team that will use it are frequently not the same club.

Salary figures cover 351 player contracts plus cap, tax and dead-money totals for all 30 teams, sourced from Spotrac and refreshed daily. Draft results are compiled from published league records. Every team page states its own cap position and pick ownership directly from those tables rather than repeating reporting from elsewhere.
