About Courtside News
Courtside News is an independent NBA news publication covering all 30 teams every day of the year. We track breaking news, trade rumors, the NBA Draft, free agency, and the salary cap so fans can follow the entire league in one place.
Why we started this site
Following the NBA has become a full-time job. News breaks on one platform, trade rumors on another, contract details on a third, and by the time you catch up, the story has already moved. We launched Courtside News in 2026 to fix that: one clean, fast site where a fan can see what actually happened across the league today, without wading through hot takes, betting spam, or clickbait.
We are basketball obsessives first and publishers second. The site we built is the site we always wanted as fans: every team covered daily, rumors clearly labeled as rumors, and the financial side of the league (contracts, cap sheets, tax bills) treated as real news instead of an afterthought.
What we cover
- Daily news for all 30 NBA teams, updated around the clock
- Trade rumors and front-office reporting, always attributed to the original insider
- NBA Draft news and prospect coverage
- Free agency signings, including a live tracker during the signing period
- Salary cap data: team cap sheets, player contracts, luxury tax bills, and salary rankings
How we work
Our newsroom pairs editors with modern research and drafting tools. Every story starts from established NBA reporting, and original reporting is always credited to the journalist or outlet that broke it. Rumors are labeled as rumors and never presented as confirmed fact.
Our standards are documented in our Editorial Policy. When we get something wrong, we say so: fixes are published on our Corrections page, and anyone can flag an error through our contact form.
