For the Clippers, moving Leonard accelerates a youth-first timeline built around Garland, Wagler and incoming draft capital. Poeltl's contract counts as a sunk cost, yet his defensive presence offers a short-term anchor in the paint during a transitional season. The three future first-round picks provide Los Angeles with flexibility to accumulate young talent or package assets for a future star.
