The Sacramento Kings announced a five-game preseason slate for the 2026-27 NBA season. The slate opens at home on Oct. 5 against the Los Angeles Lakers, then heads to Crypto.com Arena for a second Lakers matchup on Oct. 8. The team will travel to San Francisco to face the Golden State Warriors on Oct. 10, return to Golden 1 Center for a home game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Oct. 13, and finish the preseason on Oct. 16 at Frost Bank Arena against the San Antonio Spurs.
Alongside the schedule, the Kings confirmed that Mark Jones will serve as the full-time play-by-play voice, paired with game analyst Kayte Christensen. Morgan Ragan and Deuce Mason will continue to host the pre-game and post-game shows on NBC Sports California. Jones, who split duties with Kyle Draper in recent seasons, returns after leaving ESPN in April.
The franchise concluded last season with a 22-60 record, tying the Utah Jazz for the worst mark in the Western Conference. Head coach Doug Christie returns for another season, maintaining continuity after a challenging campaign. Veteran contributors such as Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine, Malik Monk, Keegan Murray and Precious Achiuwa are slated to start the season with the squad.
The roster also features a cohort of young talent. Rookies Darius Acuff Jr., Alex Karaban and Emanuel Sharp join second-year players Nique Clifford, Maxime Raynaud and Dylan Cardwell, providing depth and potential upside as the team looks to develop its core.
The preseason schedule offers early benchmarks for Sacramento. Two games against a Lakers team now without LeBron James and a single contest with the Warriors give the Kings a chance to test their rotations against established opponents. The Oct. 16 finale against the defending Western Conference champion Spurs presents a stern early test, allowing the coaching staff to gauge how the blend of veterans and newcomers performs under pressure before regular-season play begins.
